Civic Hacking 101

Event Type: Special Events
Age Group(s): adults, high school
Date: 11/16/2013
Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Time: 4:00 PM
Description:
Do you have ideas for apps, websites, or software that would improve your community and the city of Lexington? Team up with fellow local programmers and Lexington enthusiasts, and learn how to turn those ideas into realities. Civic Hacking 101, cosponsored by Open Lexington and Collexion Hackerspace, is designed to begin a dialogue about Lexington's needs, and to introduce the philosophies behind hacking for social good. No coding experience or knowledge is necessary at this point - general interest and civic excitement are the only requirements to participate. The ideas produced from Civic Hacking 101 may be expanded at future library hackathons and hackfests, where some coding experience might be helpful. Sign up now to secure your spot at this exciting event!
